EVERYTHING: A SPECULATIVE DESIGN
Every day we receive information, data, updating our perceptions on things, small as personal, or broad as global, and try to build up our understanding of the world. We may sometimes question the reality—what would it become if things are different?
Speculative design allows us designers to think about the probable, plausible, possible, and preferable about the world we are living in, to ask questions rather than answers, and to imagine the “what if” between reality and the impossible.
Everything: A Speculative Design is a publication about an impossible future: humans existing in an imaginary social structure of absolute equality in a world under highly developed technology and artificial intelligence. The publication is composed of a number of academic papers and articles by authors in different fields on the topics of human individuality, social structure, religion, and geography. Using design and imagination as a medium, we speculate the future to better understand the present.

Living Member was created in Beijing in 2022. The brand aims the Gen Z, who follows the latest lifestyle trends and social hotspots, as the main target. Living Member addresses the idea of conveying “perceptual freedom”. “Every creative move is associated with the regained freedom of our perception,” a quote that inspires the designer, who interprets it through her designs, articulates the concept of liberating our true and fresh selves from conventionality, connecting to each other, to the brand and society through clothing as a medium.
